This is comparable to the PSP Port of the same game with the same name.
Positives:
- No crashes
- Most menus run at full speed with no frame dips or glitches
- Distortion drives allow the game to run at 60 FPS due to the removal of the background in-game
Negatives:
- Skipping the intro and some cutscenes leads to temporary freezing, followed by > 60 FPS framerate (Framelimiter is on)
- In-game runs at a low framerate (34 FPS, game is locked to 60 FPS) due to 3D backgrounds (Affects all stages, some are worse than others)
- Arcade “Next up” screen lags towards the middle/end and breaks the framelimit
Tested on:
- Windows 10 (64-bit)
- Intel i5-6500 (Quad Core, 3.2Ghz, not overclocked)
- AMD RX 580 (Open GL 4.6)
- 32GB DDR4 RAM
- Game and emulator running on a 5400RPM HDD
Settings:
- Enable Hardware Shader OFF
- All other settings left at default
- Pre-game menus and intros run faster with VSync disabled, but in-game still runs the same
